At Fairfield, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Infants are introduced to a variety of activities, including sports, music, art, performing arts and outdoor learning experiences, designed to spark curiosity and uncover hidden talents.

Sports at Fairfield
Sport is taught by specialist teachers twice a week and swimming is a weekly activity for all children from Reception to Year 6.
We offer an extremely wide choice of sports, which changes termly and gives children the opportunity to try everything!
The school regularly competes at sports fixtures against other Bristol independent schools and ISA regional sporting events.
We make it possible for every child to represent the school at sport if they wish as we compete at all levels to suit all abilities, helping your child to develop in friendly competitive sports wherever their talents lie.

Music Lessons and Productions
Music is integral to our Key Stage 1 curriculum and taught by specialist teachers. The classes are usually linked to our whole school topic themed approach to the curriculum. Our school is home to many talented musicians with individual music tuition available in addition to class music lessons.
Children can choose to join the Little Voices Choir and all children sing every week during our school hymn practice.
Your child will gain valuable experience in performing in front of an audience when they perform at our school assemblies, drama productions and services.

Performing Arts
We aim to build confidence in all our pupils to perform publicly. Each class delivers a “Family Assembly” each term for the school and parents, which helps develop confidence through public speaking.
Each Christmas the Infants perform a Nativity and a drama production in the summer term, where each child has a speaking part.
Pupils also have the option to attend speech and drama classes as an extra-curricular activity.
