Inside the Classroom

Our classes are small, which means your child will receive a significant amount of individual attention. The teachers structure their planning and delivery of the curriculum to ensure that each child has areas of focus and development which are specific to their needs.

Beyond the classroom

Creative Curriculum

The curriculum is approached in a fun and engaging way through whole school themes and a cross-curricular approach is adopted as much as possible. Some examples of our whole school themes include: Ice and Fire, Built to Last, The Dynamic Earth and Journeys.

The curriculum is enhanced by an extensive programme of trips and visiting speakers and interactive workshops.

Key Stage 1 Assessment

A combination of regular formative and summative assessment is used to track your child’s progress throughout the school.

We use both formative and summative assessment to track your child’s progress, inform our planning and to ensure that all pupils receive the appropriate level of challenge or support to enable them to fulfil their potential.

Throughout your child’s time with us we believe in nurturing a strong partnership between home and school. Parents are encouraged to communicate with the class teachers, ensuring open communication and a shared commitment to your child’s success.
